 SCUBA DIVING AT LOS ARCOS ISLANDS NATIONAL PARK
Los Arcos is an excellent dive site for day diving and night diving - beginner divers and experienced divers. One of Mexico's most popular marine reserves, this cluster of granite islands that perch out of the water in the southern part of Banderas Bay can be reached by taking a scenic 20 minute boat ride from Marina Vallarta.
The waters surrounding Los Arcos are the deepest in the entire bay, and the shallow depths at Los Arcos National Marine Park attract all kinds of tropical fish and a wide variety of marine life. You'll have the opportunity to see angelfish, butterflyfish, damsels, parrot fish, needlefish, puffers, eagle rays, giant mantas and sea turtles.

By participating in a Discover Scuba course at least one day before the Los Arcos Discovery Cruise, first-time divers can join in the scuba fun!
This three-stop tour of Banderas Bay includes snorkeling and diving at Los Arcos, stops at two of Vallarta's most beautiful and secluded beaches, and includes: A one-tank dive at Los Arcos (including gear), snorkeling, kayaking, exploring Yelapa and Majahuitas, lunch and open bar on board, music and entertainment, and a whole day of fun!

LOS ARCOS NIGHT DIVE
Night diving at El Bajo Reef is one of the best dives that you will ever experience! Your adventure starts with getting your scuba equipment ready as the sun gently dips into the horizon, setting the mood for the natural beauty of the underwater world that you are about to experience.
El Bajo Reef is a 60 foot pinnacle that reaches up to just 6 feet below the surface of Banderas Bay, and is home to most of Los Arcos' underwater life, including lobster, octopus, and sea turtles. You don't want to miss the 60% of sea life that doesn't come out during the day, the sleeping parrot fish, or the phenomenon of plankton glowing in the moonlit waters - so join us for an unforgettable adventure! Daily departures at sunset: 6:30 PM (winter) and 8:30 PM (summer) [We recommend that you check in with the Marina Mismaloya Staff at least 30 minutes before departure time.]

SCUBA DIVING AT LAS MARIETAS ISLANDS
The Marietas Islands are part of an underwater mountain range that peak above the Pacific Ocean's surface about 20 miles off the coast of Puerto Vallarta and mark the entrance to Banderas Bay. A scenic boat ride from Marina Vallarta will take you to the Northern end of Banderas Bay, and provides the chance to see humpback whales during the winter months. The islands provide a perfect sanctuary for the whales and sea turtles that migrate to Banderas Bay, where they mate and have their babies each winter.
In the 1970's, when he was studying humpback whales, the Marietas Islands fascinated Jacques Cousteau with their deep caverns and rugged rock architecture. Today, the spectacular undersea architecture at Las Marietas Federal Marine Reserve is a sanctuary for turtles, dolphins, mantas, and scores of tropical fish that swim along the coral reefs. With so much going for it, it's no wonder that both beginner and certified divers call the Marietas their favorite dive destination in Puerto Vallarta! Whether you are a beginner or a certified diver, you can share a fun-filled day with friends and family who don't dive by taking a Discovery Cruise to the Marietas Islands Federal Marine Reserve at the northern end of Banderas Bay. Our Discovery Marietas Cruise gives scuba divers the chance for an up-close look at the diverse marine life that takes refuge in the shelter of the islands, while your non-diving friends enjoy kayaking or snorkeling in the crystal blue waters of the Mexican Pacific.
Included in your ticket price are: A one-tank dive, snorkeling, and kayaking at Las Marietas, as well as food & beverages, fishing gear, music and entertainment on board.  At Marina Mismaloya your safety and enjoyment are our top priorities. To participate in our scuba diving excursions divers must present a valid diver certification card. Refresher courses are required for certified divers who have not dived in the past 6 months. Non-certified divers can experience their first dive at Los Arcos or Las Marietas by taking a Learn To Dive class the day before their dive trip. Each of our PADI Certified Divemasters supervise no more than 4 divers using the buddy system. Don't miss the boat! We recommend that you check in at the Maritime Terminal at least 30 minutes before departure.
